I’m constantly amazed by all the incredible women on the internet and in my life. I honestly couldn’t name one specific woman I idolize because there are just so many that deserve all the recognition and more. So to continue with our cool girl series—here are 10 more women that I find incredibly cool. Hopefully you find some new women to follow and pay attention to.
Tammy Mai. I first discovered Tammy on YouTube and fell in love with her easy to watch, relatable “in my twenties” vlog content. Lately she has effortlessly blended in more personal growth and philosophical topics into her vlogs making them even more of a joy to watch. I’m sure every one of her subscribers feels this way but I genuinely feel like we could be friends. Love her discussions on reconnecting with her culture, figuring out life step by step, and learning how to be a more balanced human.
Tina Zhang. Beyond her amazing 90s office siren style, I love reading
’s substack, Digital Tinz. Her articles feel like little snippets and vignettes into her life and are a joy to read. I loved her article chatGPT killed the radio star as it explores parasocial relationships from a lens I haven’t given much thought about.Peggy Lee. Peggy is a friend of mine that I admire so much. She’s got an unbelievably ambitious mindset and has completely turned her life around after a major international move. Her fitness ethos is one I’m slowly trying to learn and adopt and watching her journey as a creative human has been so rewarding. She recently started creating vlogs on YouTube showing her life in Shang Hai as a fitness instructor and they’re so wholesome and comforting.
Brianna Wiest. I first read The Mountain is You by Brianna Wiest in 2021 and it changed the game for me on how I see self-sabotage and emotional healing. She also penned the popular 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think. I love her deeply introspective and emotionally resonant writing on personal growth, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
Caitlyn Gunter. I recently started reading
and absolutely fell in love with her writing. She has this effortless writing style that makes you feel like you’re walking through the streets of Paris alongside her. That, paired with the more intimate details and snapshots she shares of her life, makes for the most bingeable articles. One of her recent articles, The Real Reason I Fell for Paris (Not the Restaurants), actually made made me tear up. I also loved her article in The New York Times about her post-divorce relationship with her ex. I love Substack for helping me discover The 75. But seriously, if you’re a woman who’s ever daydreamed about living in Paris and have experienced any sort of heartbreak—go and read her posts.Eve Babitz. I feel like this one is a cop out because she’s KNOWN to be a cool girl but I had to include her. I discovered Eve Babitz through Slow Days, Fast Company which made me feel like I was catching up with a beloved friend over a night of drinks. Some writers just have that effect. I have Sex and Rage as my next TBR and I just know it’ll be the perfect hot weather, sitting-in-the-sun, cool-drink-in-hand read.
Claire Marshall. I’ve been following Claire on YouTube since I was a teenager (if you’re in the same age bracket as me I’m sure you’ve seen her videos too). Back when the fashion/beauty YouTube space was still predominantly Caucasian girls and women, watching a tattooed Asian-American creator “make it” in the space was inspiring in so many ways. She’s inspired me so much over the years and is one creative that I could attribute my courage to create and share my life on the internet.
Katherine Johnsen. Some may know her as the sneaker queen. Some may know her as the carry-on queen. KJ just kills it in any field she takes interest in and I’ve loved following her journey on social media working on Counter Culture (a digital agency based in Toronto) and now Common Ace, a sneaker-dedicated startup. She’s also super entertaining to watch on TikTok and all of my best travel tips originate from her.
Daisy Pyo. I actually don’t remember how I discovered Daisy. I think my friend
might have been the one to introduce me to her Instagram when she hiked Machu Picchu on a solo-trip. Since then, it’s been so fun following her content on travelling, fashion, lifestyle, beauty, you name it. Since then, she’s started a TikTok and a YouTube and both are so entertaining.Caricakes. Cari has this softness to her that instantly makes her YouTube channel anyone’s comfort channel. Her main channel is a vlog channel but I especially love her book content on her book channel. Her videos can get LONG (like over an hour long) at times but there’s honestly no one else I prefer listening to for over an hour.
Would love to know who you’re sharing, reading, watching, and loving lately.
