Happy International Women’s day 💌 I’ve actually been thinking about adding this as a series on Coffees with Angel for a while but what better day to start than on IWD. I wanted to use this as a way to feature some women I find incredibly cool (see Redefining “the cool girl”). Whether it’s for the work they do, their beliefs, who they are as a person (likely all of the above), there are so many women worth mentioning—hence the series.
To kick things off, here are 10 women for our very first Women I find incredibly cool.
Dr. Nicole LePera. @theholisticphsychologist on IG, I first discovered her content in my early twenties (actually thanks to one of my exes). I read her book How To Do The Work a few years back and it made quite a significant impact on the trauma I was trying to work through at the time and specifically kicking off my inner child healing.
Brené Brown. Author, researcher, academic. Brown’s book Daring Greatly is one my “every human should read this” list. Her research revolves around vulnerability, courage, and shame and she has been a leading figure in the education of those topics. I have a few other of her books on my TBR but her podcasts are also worth listening to as well.
Lizzy Hadfield. I’ve been following Lizzy since her handle was from @shotfromthestreet. She started Buffy’s a few years back—a book club hosting live events in both London and New York (the two cities she currently calls home). I originally followed her for her understated yet chic style and when she started to post about books as well I knew that she was a creator I’d follow for a long time.
Jordan Santos. Another woman I look up to for both a classic and minimalist personal style and a love for books. She writes two publications on Substack, No One Asks, a more personal publication and how to be a woman on the internet, co-penned with
, exploring our relationships with great wide web.Malissa. I discovered Malissa on TikTok through her book reviews but she now also has a YouTube channel as well. What stands out about Malissa is her classic aura and tastes. I love that she continues to read and shed light on classic authors and books—so different from the rest of booktok’s content—and I’ve discovered so many great reads I would’ve never stumbled across if not for her.
Alia Zaita. Alia is a YouTuber that has seen so much well-deserved growth over the last few years. Her and her partner created the What’s The Juice podcast, having casual conversations about life, relationships, and being creatives. She mainly creates vlog content on YouTube, but there’s something about following her life that instantly makes me want to create.
Sarah Gray. It’s the effortless nature and comforting relatability that makes
’s content feel like your favorite blanket and a warm cup of tea. Sarah creates warming and beautiful vlogs on YouTube, shares her practical and stylish outfits on TikTok, and has started to write here as well. Few creators really nail that balance of friend and inspiration and it feels like she just naturally sits in that space.Summer Lui. We’re getting a little more personal now with 3 friends I’ve been admiring since the very beginning. If you met
in person, you’d find her warm, inviting, and incredibly friendly. Summer’s always dressed impeccably in an effortless yet chic way that feels intentionally undone. I have yet to meet another woman that has mastered the messy bun the way she has. When you get to know her you’ll find that she is filled with knowledge, built from her insatiable curiosity for how things work. She writes Girl Journal—a publication that touches on her own journey of rediscovering femininity in a world that expects us to lead with our masculine sides.Janice Fong. What stands out about
is her observative nature and how she’s able to use that skill to understand things, people, and situations from a fresh perspective (this is also what makes her such a great UX designer). She’s constantly learning about the world, herself, and working her way towards growth in a way that’s relatable and inspiring. She’s also the most easy person to talk to (once you get past her libra coolness) making you want to confide in her and seek comfort and advice. She writes There You Are, sharing her journey as she explores, reads, and grows. It’s such an easy publication to read, always feeling like a late night chat with a friend.Terri Ling. Terri is someone that brings about a peace when you’re around her. She recently finished her YTT (yoga teacher training) which couldn’t be a better fit for her. From her very first class, you could tell that she was finally tapping into one of her purposes in life—connecting humans and helping them tune in to themselves both physically and mentally. She also started her podcast this year, Yoga In Transition, bringing together topics like corporate life, understanding your body, and using Yoga as a tool to grow in life. She has this effortless way to life that makes balance look easy but also is able to relate on just how tough it can be sometimes.
If anything, I hope this post has given you some new creators/writers/amazing humans to check out.
I’d love to know who you’re currently looking up to so please comment so I can discover them too.
