Nice read — I'm so glad we're moving away from the perfect modern girl image. It's just as damaging as the perfect wife/mother trope.
One thing I'd add to this is something I've heard Cal Newport talk about a lot: having a project of your own, that no one else is making you do, just because you can. Even though it's technically more 'work', I think a lot of burnout doesn't come from overwork but rather from feeling like you have no control over the work you do — feeling like you're just a 'gadget', as Newport says.
There's something rejuvenating about working on something that's just yours, just because.
Totally agreed on burnout not necessarily coming from overwork but rather the lack of control. I've had too many burnout moments come from overwhelm so I totally get that. Shifting my focus to fulfillment rather than just achievement has helped so much with that honestly.
I love the concept of "mindful and ambitious." It speaks to me as I think it's easy to become critical of ourselves when we aren't being "more" ambitious or achieving the goals, and that's where mindfulness comes in. Thank you for sharing!
