June
June felt like an unnecessary race. My anxiety took center stage this month, keeping me moving forward but also keeping me anchored to this overarching feeling of dread. What a way to start summer (and also a casual monthly round-up newsletter).
On the bright side, as the weather (finally) gets warmer, my mood has been improving. Most likely because I’m spending more time under the sun and less time ruminating alone in my apartment. Sometimes vitamin D is just what you need to push through the brain fog and make it to the other end.
Since May was an ending, I’m seeing June as a reset, so hopefully July will be about rebuilding. I’m rebuilding routines, habits, systems, and goals as a way to shift my focus away from the heavier emotions I’ve been trapped under.
As tough as June was, there were a lot of good moments as well. So this month’s Wrapped features all the positive things I journaled about during the month of June.

Rituals
In June, I tried on rituals like clothes. My old morning routines don’t quite fit right anymore and I’ve yet to find a new one that I love as much. While I figure that out, I have started to cut out screens again at the end of the night.
Nights.
Lately I’ve been ending my nights with reading or knitting + audiobook so that the last thing I look at before I sleep isn’t a screen. This has definitely made it a little easier to fall asleep and my Ultrahuman ring says I’ve been getting more deep sleeps.
Mornings.
While I don’t have my entire morning routine figured out, I have been enjoying taking my journal on my morning walk with me on warmer days. Not only does this push me to be outside for longer but it also gives me the opportunity to soak up some sunshine first thing in the morning.
Exploring
Green spaces.
Lately I’ve been spending more time in green spaces than urban spaces. Partially because Mika and I have been working on her separation anxiety that got heightened after we moved but also because it’s been a welcoming environment when I’m feeling anxious.
While I no longer live 5 minutes from the forest trails, I do have access to a lot more city parks now that honestly are just as beautiful. I forgot how many green spaces we have in Vancouver and it’ll definitely be something I miss when I leave the city.
Projects
Work.
The main project I’ve been trying to focus on lately is growing my business in a way that’s fulfilling but also intentional. I’ve struggled with the direction of my business purely because I can’t pick a niche that I want to commit to. Why should we niche down when we’re all multi-faceted creatures? Unfortunately it’s hard to nail down products, content, and systems when you want to talk about everything.
In June I peeled back from my usual workload so that I can carefully examine what my bottlenecks are and how they’re affecting my growth. In July I’d love to take some actions that push me forward even a little bit.
Some things I’d like to accomplish in July
Removing unnecessary domains I own and bringing everything to one place
Picking a theme for the month and creating content around that theme
Getting ahead of my content posting schedule
Fun.
I sound like a broken record but knitting has been my therapy lately. I’m currently working on the Riller Ruth Hack It Jacket as my first project. Someone told me it was a good beginners piece to work on. I already had the foundations down as I used to knit a lot as a kid, but there were definitely new techniques and skills I had to learn for this project. If you are a true beginner (with 0 knitting experience) I wouldn’t recommend this as your first project. It’s not impossible but it definitely gets frustrating at times.
Observations
The resurgence of simple vlogs.
For a while, the barrier to entry for YouTube has been increasing exponentially with players like Mr. Beast and Casey Neistat taking vlogging to a whole other level. While these high production creations still monopolize the top creator spots on YouTube, there’s been a resurgence of simpler, slower vlogs that remind me the early days of YouTube.
I personally love this more casual style of vlogging, not only because they’re a joy to watch, but because it leaves more room for beginners to start vlogging.
If you didn’t know, I make intentional living vlogs on YouTube and I also talk a lot about productivity, personal growth, and career on my main channel.
If you’ve been looking for a new comfort YouTuber, I’d also recommend these channels:
Recommendations
In an effort to move away from doom-scrolling, I’ve tried to fill my time with intentional consumption instead. Luckily this month was filled with books and films that felt inspiring and moving so here are some of my favorites.
I learned about this book through Malissa on TikTok and I’m so glad I did because it ended up being one of my favorite books of 2025 so far. I listened to this in audio format which on Audible is narrated by Meryl Streep. The book is structured as Lara recounts the story of her life to her 3 daughters as they work through their cherry farm work during the pandemic. While the story is meant to highlight her dating Peter Duke, a movie star, it ends up being a touching coming-of-age story reminding us that everything happens for a reason and that sometimes the wrong things don’t work out to make space for what is meant to be ours.
Eulogy (ep 5 of season 7) from Black Mirror
Clearly I’ve been in a reminiscing mood because my favorite episode of Black Mirror season 7 is Eulogy, where we follow a lonely man named Philip as he revisits his relationship with a recently deceased ex-girlfriend, Carol. With the help of technology, he’s able to literally step into old photographs and relive memories where he’s able to confront his regrets and explore all the what ‘what-ifs’ that have held him back for years.
F1 The Movie
If you enjoy Drive to Survive on Netflix, you’ll love the F1 movie. It has an incredible soundtrack, scored by Hans Zimmer.
Normal People
I didn’t love Sally Rooney’s book when I had read it a few years back but the show makes me want to do a re-read. You follow Marianne and Connell as they weave in and out of each other’s lives from childhood to adulthood.
Treasures
Portable lamps. The area where my new desk is located is a bit dark so I’ve been looking for an affordable lamp option to light up the space. I got this 2 pack of portable, rechargeable lamps that did the trick perfectly. I can also move them around for when I’m knitting in bed or reading on the couch.
Paper Republic A6 Portfolio. The very first Paper Republic notebook I purchased was the Grand Voyageur in the pocket size. While it served me well over the last 2 years, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to the A6 Portfolio. I like that I have more notebook options for this cover now plus the brown colour brings me so much joy.
You can use code ‘AngelPR30’ for 30% any of their bundles.
Biafine. I purchased this as a recommendation from
when I was in Europe last. It’s a topical healing cream often used for wound healing, burns, and skin irritations. I’ve heard that it’s great for after abrasive facial treatments but I’ve been using it as an acne healing cream and it work wonders.Snapping

Your simple vlogs bring me joy
Adore this and Omg I’m also loving YouTube vlogs lately it’s so beautiful to see small creators creating such inspiring content 🤍
